If you familiar with the history of the Tuskegee Airmen, then you definitely understand why the setting of this comic book series and the premise is not only intriguing and captivating, but powerful.

If you are a fan of Afrofuturism, Historical fiction and/or Mecha Anime, this is definitely a series to checkout.

Before getting into the Tuskegee Heirs series itself, it’s very important to note that the creators of this series weren’t backed by some major Comic Book industry juggernaut (see what I did there?!) like Marvel or DC Comics. They did it all on their own! Well, with the help of everyone that gave to their Kickstarter campaign. That in and of itself, in a world where it’s hard for Indie Comic book creators to survive and thrive, should be celebrated.

As for the content itself, I really enjoyed this Volume 1 Series. The story is fun and compelling, and the illustration work is beyond phenomenal. If you familiar with the history of the Tuskegee Airman, then you definitely understand why the setting of this comic book series and the premise is not only intriguing and captivating, but powerful.

To the best of my knowledge, there are only 3 publicahtions in the series so far and so I definitely found myself yearning for more. Not sure when or if there are more releases in the works, but regardless of my curiosity to see how these characters and their story continues to develop, I highly recommend picking up these comic books, either for your kids, or yourself if you’re a comic book fan or just curious about the comic book genre.

Description: “Tuskegee Heirs: Flames of Destiny” is a NEW futuristic sci-fi action-adventure comic book series set 80 years into the future that follows a squadron of young, gifted aviators, who are forced to become Earth’s last line of defense against a menacing race of artificially intelligent villains bent on destroying civilization.  Trained at the legendary Moton Field, by Col. Mars (our own fictional descendant of the Tuskegee Airmen), these five teens and their crew embody strong moral ethics and team strategies used by the Red Tails themselves to overcome their problems. Follow along as our team travels the globe in an effort to save  civilization, exposing little known history and geography along the way.

Also…There’s GIANT ROBOTS.

Sincerely,
Kwapi
